Photoshop workshop part 2 - Layering and liquifying

First, I layered the image by clicking on the background layer and selecting 'duplicate layer' at the bottom of the window.

Then I clicked on 'Filter' and selected 'Liquify',
And then I clicked on the 'Bloat Tool' form the little tool bar on the right,

and used it to make certain parts of the image appear larger i.e. the eyes.

Original
Edited using 'Bloat' tool.

Notice how the eye is slightly bigger than the original.

After that, I opened up another image onto Photoshop to use as another layer. I used the Move tool to drag the image onto the first image so that it would automatically appear over the first image as another layer.
I resized the second layer so that it would fit over the whole image and clicked 'Apply' so it would stay in place. Then I clicked the blending layer selection box,
clicked on 'Overlay',
And here is the result:

I saved the image by clicking 'File' then 'Save As',
then changed the file name,
then selected the format to save the image as,
and clicked 'Save'.

Photoshop workshop part 1 - Levels, brightness and contrast

This is Jacqui. She was photographed from head to shoulders in day light. (This is the before image)

Here's how I did it.

I opened up the image onto Photoshop. Then I clicked on 'Image', selected 'Adjustments' and clicked on levels to brighten it up a bit.

Then I clicked on 'Image', 'Adjustments' and this time I clicked on 'Brightness/Contrast' to change the contrast.

Stay tuned for part 2!

Photoshop workshop part 3

After I dragged all the images onto the page, I turned the grid on to ensure the images were properly aligned.
When I found that they weren't, I zoomed in so I could see what I was doing, and aligned them properly.
After the images were perfectly aligned, I decided to put borders around them to make them more interesting. I did this by clicking Edit then Stroke...
 Then chose the width....
and the colour of each border.
After I added the borders, I flattened the image and saved it in JPEG format.

Photoshop workshop part 2

Before I dragged the image onto the blank document, I set the transform controls to auto select and show transform controls so the image will be be easier to move in place.
When I dragged the image onto the blank document, it was far too big to fit on the page, so I clicked the move tool to select and resize it to the size I wanted it.

Photoshop workshop part 1

First, I opened up Photoshop to make a new document. I've set the size to A4 (international paper) and kept the resolution at 300.
Then I rotated the document 90 degrees clockwise to make it landscape.
